What is Cursillo?
Cursillo is the abbreviated name for “Cursillos de Christiandad” which translates from its Spanish origins to “short course in Christianity.”
The Cursillo Movement is a lay movement within the Catholic Church that shares the fundamentals of being a Christian as an individual and as a community.
The Cursillo helps the person discover and fulfill their personal vocation as a layperson while promoting groups of Christians who by living a fully Christian life, bring Christ to others in our everyday settings of home, work, and daily activity.
What happens on the weekend?
Cursillo retreat consists of an extended weekend designed to bring you into an encounter with yourself, Christ and the Christian Community. During the three days of the retreat, the participants listen to talks given by priests and laity on topics including, but not limited to, the Sacraments, Christian community, Christian Life, Grace, Faith and Evangelization in your environment.
During the Cursillo weekend you will learn a method and a technique to provide each participant with the tools, the mentality, the strength and the support to make fulfilling our baptismal promise possible and sustainable.
Where does the weekend take place?
The weekends are held at St Joseph’s Retreat and Conference Center in Tipton, IN.
